The aim of the course is to equip the student with the relevant instructional methods - knowledge and skills to design, deliver and evaluate a PHECC EFR course and to assess course participants
•Have a valid EFR/EMT provider certificate or show evidence of PHECC practitioner registration.
•Valid CFR instructor certification which must be maintained for the duration of their EFR-I certificate.
•Complete a 3-day instructor course, including tuition in instructional methods and a period of supervised teaching practice.
Who's it for
An emergency first responder instructor may be a healthcare practitioner or a member of the public who has undertaken an Emergency First Response course. Pre-Requisites: Candidates must be certified as a CFR – Instructor
Method of Delivery
The course is delivered as a three-day face to face course by an instructor trainer who will use DVD, presentations and role-play to guide you through the course. The course is delivered through English.
Duration & Assessment
The face to face portion of the course is three days long. Once that has been completed students are designated as "Instructor Candidates", in order to gain full instructor status students must complete the required 3 step monitoring process. This includes observing an instructor deliver a course, assisting an instructor with a course and finally delivering a course. Once this has been completed successfully students are fully qualified instructors and will receive their instructor certificate.
Assessment: EFR Instructors must complete successfully PHECC skill stations, deliver a portion of an EFR course & complete a written examination in order to obtain qualification.
Upon successful completion of this course and monitoring process students will be awarded PHECC Certification as an Emergency First Responder – Instructor (EFR-I)
In order to maintain your qualification, you will be required to deliver at least 4 courses within the two-year certification period.
